Long Bio
Stephanie brings over 25 years of writing and performing experience to the page, stage and classroom. She studied at Emerson College where she was a member of Emerson Comedy Workshop before moving back to her homeland of New York City. She performed her original one and two person shows at CBGB’s Gallery, Under Acme and The Knitting Factory, was in talks to create a show on Comedy Central and then she got pregnant. And then she got pregnant again. It turns out, children are A LOT of work and take up A LOT of time.
Her return stage debut was at her daughter’s elementary school fundraiser of American Idol where she played JLo. Her performance was so convincing that students asked for her autograph, thinking that she was actually Jennifer Lopez.
Her writing has been published in various formats; monthly column about motherhood for three years, and she interviewed Anne Rice and got to discuss writing to heavy metal and Bon Jovi.
She has been the emcee for Pecha Kucha and Ted X Piscataqua and created the Couch to Mic Comedy Series, which she also emcees. All to sold out houses. She was in the national stage show, Listen To Your Mother, where she was able to use her experience of a Sphincterotomy after giving birth to her first child as comedy gold. It really is true, comedy is tragedy plus time.
Stephanie is a juried Artist in Residence on the New Hampshire State Council for the Arts and teaches residencies and workshops throughout New England.
